Acclaimed actors Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs are set to star in Amazon's highly anticipated Tomb Raider series. According to a recent announcement on Reddit, Isaacs will take on the role of Atlas DeMornay, Lara Croft's uncle, while Weaver will play Evelyn Wallis, a charismatic and enigmatic figure looking to capitalize on Lara's exceptional abilities. They will be joining Sophie Turner, who was cast as Lara Croft in September. The series will also feature returning characters from the video game franchise, including Zip, played by Martin Bobb-Semple, and Winston, portrayed by Bill Paterson. Additionally, the cast includes Celia Imrie, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, and August Wittgenstein as new characters. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series showrunner, expressed her excitement about the cast, stating, "The Tomb Raider franchise is home to a wide range of iconic characters, and I'm thrilled to have been able to bring some of these beloved figures to life on screen, while also introducing new ones to the mix." The Amazon Tomb Raider adaptation, led by Waller-Bridge and Chad Hodge, is scheduled to begin production on January 19, 2026, following its greenlight by Amazon MGM Studios in May 2024.
