Layoffs Hit Warner Bros Games' San Francisco Studio

Warner Bros. Games has allegedly let go of a number of employees at its San Francisco-based studio. Former staff members have come forward, stating that their positions were terminated due to company-wide layoffs. Tony Perkins, the former director of design, announced last month that his role and entire team would be disbanded by the end of December, attributing the decision to a game's underperformance. Another ex-employee, art director Roland Herran, also confirmed the layoffs, expressing gratitude for his time at the studio and optimism about the future. The San Francisco studio is home to Warner Bros. Games' Digital Publishing division and is responsible for developing mobile titles, including DC Worlds Collide and the now-defunct MultiVersus. This news follows the company's decision to close three studios earlier in the year, citing the need to 'structure our development studios and investments around building the best games possible with our key franchises.' The closures resulted in the cancellation of Monolith's Wonder Woman game, a decision the company described as 'tough' due to its commitment to delivering high-quality experiences for iconic characters.
