Holiday Season Sees Arc Raiders and Detroit: Become Human as Top Sellers, Analysts Reveal
The holiday period saw Arc Raiders emerge as the best-selling game across all platforms. Data from Video Game Insights indicates that Embark Studios' extraction shooter surpassed four million copies in sales across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox last month. Additionally, Alinea Analytics reports that the game secured an estimated 1.2 million copies on Steam between December 21, 2025, and January 5, 2026. This brings the total sales of Arc Raiders on Steam to over seven million copies since its launch on October 30. The game's parent company, Nexon, has confirmed that Arc Raiders has sold over 12.4 million units, with 2.4 million of those sales occurring in 2026. Detroit: Become Human was the second best-selling game on Steam during this period, with 993,000 units sold. The 2018 title's revenue reached $3.2 million, thanks to a discount from $40 to $4 as part of the Steam Winter Sale, pushing its total Steam revenue to over $150 million and seven million copies sold. In December, Battlefield 6 sold over 3.5 million units on all platforms, while data from Alinea shows it sold 706,000 copies between December 21 and January 5. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sold an additional one million copies over Christmas, boosted by its success at The Game Awards. On PlayStation and Xbox, EA Sports FC 26 took the top spot in terms of new players, with 1.7 million players, while Arc Raiders was the top game on Xbox with 564,000 new players.
