Nintendo of America and Contractor Face Labor Complaints

The National Labor Relations Board in the US has received two labor complaints against Nintendo and its contractor, Teksystems. The complaints, filed in December 2025 and January 2026, allege that both companies have breached labor laws by interfering with employees' self-organizing activities and by discriminating against workers who have filed charges. Nintendo of America works with Teksystems on various key roles, including game testing and customer service. Although details of the complaints are limited, they follow a similar complaint filed in 2022 by a QA worker, MacKenzie Clifton, who accused Nintendo of firing them for inquiring about the company's stance on unionization. The complaint was eventually settled for $25,910. This news emerges amidst the IWGB's accusations of union busting against Rockstar, which recently fired 34 staff members. Meanwhile, Nintendo has reported significant increases in hardware and software sales following the launch of the Switch 2 console, with sales reaching 10.36 million units and resulting in a 110% jump in net sales and a 19.5% rise in operating profits.
