Amazon Games to Discontinue New World: Aeternum in January 2027
The New World: Aeternum servers will officially go offline on January 31, 2027, marking the end of the game's lifespan. Although the game was delisted on January 15, players who previously purchased it can continue playing until the shutdown. As of July 20, 2026, in-game purchases will no longer be available. While there will be no new content additions, the developers will maintain the game's stability by addressing bugs and performance issues. In a statement, the development team expressed their appreciation for the community's dedication and passion, acknowledging the special experience they shared in crafting the world of Aeternum. The team had previously announced a pause in development and cessation of content updates last October, as part of Amazon's broader restructuring efforts that impacted approximately 14,000 jobs. Initially scheduled for release in August 2020, New World: Aeternum was delayed and eventually launched on PC in September 2021, with a definitive version following in October on both PC and console.
