The Division's Julian Gerighty Leaves Massive Entertainment for DICE
Julian Gerighty, the public face of The Division series at Massive Entertainment, has revealed his departure from the studio in a social media post, expressing his enthusiasm for the franchise's future and the team's ongoing work. Gerighty, who has been a key figure in the development of The Division and The Division 2, will be joining EA's DICE. His departure comes as Ubisoft's Swedish studios undergo restructuring, with the company recently announcing layoffs. Despite this, the studio's Managing Director, Thomas Andrén, emphasized the strength of the franchise's creative leadership, citing the continued involvement of series veterans Yannick Banchereau and Mathias Karlson, as well as the return of Magnus Jansen to lead the development of The Division 2: Survivors. Andrén expressed his pride in Gerighty's contributions to Massive Entertainment, noting that his move to DICE reflects the collaborative nature of the Swedish game development industry. Ubisoft is expected to unveil further details on its restructuring into 'Creative Houses' later this month, as part of its ongoing transformation process.
