Krafton, Developer of PUBG, Has 26 Upcoming Games as It Pursues a Major Franchise

Krafton, a prominent Korean gaming company, has reaffirmed its commitment to securing a major franchise intellectual property (IP). The company has outlined its plans for 2026, which include the development of 26 games, 12 of which are slated to launch within the next two years. Notable upcoming titles include Subnautica 2, Palworld Mobile, and No Law. Krafton defines a major franchise IP as a property that can expand beyond a single game experience, driving long-term growth through various genres, content, and service formats. The company's development pipeline is designed to prioritize early validation and clear decision-making to ensure that each project has a strong potential for success. Krafton also focuses on developing games that cater to markets with a clearly identifiable core fan base, allowing the company to assess the long-term potential of each project. In addition to its new titles, Krafton plans to expand the PUBG franchise through cultural collaborations and service improvements, as well as user-generated content (UGC). The company has already expanded the PUBG IP with Black Budget and Blindspot. According to Krafton CEO CH Kim, the company will remain focused on its core gaming business while moving into the execution phase of producing new titles. Kim also stated that Krafton will create new franchise IPs through its title pipeline and creative leadership, while expanding the PUBG IP franchise as a content platform. Furthermore, Krafton is working towards becoming an 'AI-first' company, utilizing AI technology in game development and exploring its potential applications in physical AI and robotics. The company's shift towards AI-driven game development was first announced in October 2025. However, Krafton is currently involved in a legal dispute with the lead developers of Subnautica 2, who were removed from the project last year.
