Harbottle & Lewis Launches Mentorship Initiative for Independent Game Developers
A prominent London-based law firm, Harbottle & Lewis, has introduced the Indie Games Collective, a novel mentorship program aimed at nurturing fledgling game development companies. This comprehensive, year-long initiative is designed to impart vital knowledge on crucial aspects such as company formation, fundraising, contractual agreements, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. The program's core components will be delivered between February and August 2026, supplemented by a dedicated legal support service available throughout the entire 12-month period. Prospective participants must submit their applications by January 23, with successful candidates being notified of their selection by February 6. The program features a range of benefits, including invitations to networking events, access to online training sessions, and annual seminars. Notably, participation in the program is free of charge, although the number of available spaces is limited. Additionally, attendees will receive a set of customizable template agreements tailored to the specific needs of indie game studios in their early stages of development.
