Doug Bowser, Former Nintendo of America President, Appointed to Hasbro's Board of Directors
Doug Bowser, the former president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, has taken on a new role as a member of Hasbro's board of directors. He will be joined by Carla VernĂ³n, CEO of The Honest Company. Rich Stoddart, chair of Hasbro's board of directors, expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointments, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Doug and Carla to our board of directors. Their extensive experience in leading consumer brands and managing franchises will be a significant asset to Hasbro as we continue to implement our long-term strategy for innovation and growth." Chris Cocks, CEO of Hasbro, also commented on the appointments, saying, "Doug and Carla possess a deep understanding of how to build iconic brands, create engaging consumer experiences, and drive innovation and transformation in their respective industries." Bowser's departure from Nintendo of America occurred in September 2025, and he was succeeded by Devon Pritchard, who became the company's first female president. Pritchard, who joined Nintendo in 2006, previously held the position of executive vice president of business affairs and public relations. During his time at Nintendo of America, Bowser held various roles, including vice president of sales and marketing, senior vice president, and eventually president and COO. Upon his departure, Bowser reflected on his time at Nintendo, saying, "Leading Nintendo of America has been a lifetime privilege, and I am proud of the accomplishments of our team, both in terms of business results and the experiences we have created for consumers."
