Mobile Gaming Revenue Hits $81.8 Billion in 2025
The global mobile gaming market saw a modest increase in revenue, reaching $81.8 billion in 2025, while spending on non-gaming apps jumped 21% to $85.6 billion, according to Sensor Tower's State of Mobile 2026 report. The report highlights 2025 as a year of divergence for the mobile gaming industry, with no new games crossing the $1 billion revenue threshold. Instead, apps like CapCut, WeTV, and ChatGPT led the way, with ChatGPT generating over $3 billion in in-app purchases. A total of 18 apps surpassed $1 billion in revenue, evenly split between gaming and non-gaming apps. Pokémon TCG Pocket is expected to join this list in 2026. In terms of genres, casual and mid-core games remained top earners, while hybrid-casual games saw the largest increase in spending, growing 17.1% to $4.2 billion. The strategy genre also saw a surge in downloads across Asia, North America, and Europe, with Funfly's Last War: Survival and Century Games' Whiteout Survival being top titles. Last War: Survival and White Survival were the top-grossing games globally, followed by Dream Games' Royal Match and Scopely's Monopoly Go. Tencent led the way in IAP publisher earnings with almost $8 billion, followed by Scopely and Century Games. Roblox accounted for 75% of all visits to game publisher websites, with 90% of those visits being direct and 5% coming from organic searches. However, Supercell's web store drew the most traffic, with 1.5 billion visits. The data is based on iOS App Store and Google Play download and revenue estimates from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025.
