Epic's Fab Launches Spring Sale and Unveils Latest Enhancements
Following its launch in October, Fab has emerged as Epic's premier unified marketplace for digital assets, catering to the needs of game developers and creators across various engines and 3D tools. The platform is set to kick off its spring sale on April 22nd, offering discounts of up to 70% on over 60,000 products across all categories. Additionally, users who make a purchase exceeding $25 will be eligible for a complimentary 6-month subscription to Adobe Substance Painter and Modeler, with the Spring Creator Sale concluding on April 29 and the Adobe promotion running until May 31. Since its inception, Epic has rolled out several updates to enhance search results, introduce new filters, and refine the user interface, making navigation more intuitive. In response to community feedback, the Fab team has introduced a wishlist feature and enabled the association of Q&A forum threads with product listings. Epic has ambitious plans to further enhance the user experience on Fab, with upcoming features including text reviews, one-click import into various game engines and 3D tools, and support for new 2D and 3D file formats. As a comprehensive destination for digital content, Fab allows users to browse and discover a wide range of assets, including 3D character models, environments, VFX, audio, animations, and plug-ins. The platform caters to creators using Unreal Engine, Unity 3D, Unreal Editor for Fortnite, Blender, Maya, and other digital content creation tools. Moreover, Unreal Engine developers can access Fab directly through an integrated plugin in Unreal Engine 5, while Fortnite-ready assets can be accessed via Fab's UEFN integration. The home page features links to various channels, facilitating easy searches for assets compatible with Unreal Engine, UEFN, and Unity. A featured products bar showcases assets from renowned creators and studios, such as BigMediumSmall, Beffio, and Scans Factory. Fab is also the new home for Quixel Megascans, offering over 17,000 high-fidelity assets, including more than 1,500 top-quality photorealistic assets available for free to all users, regardless of their engine or platform. These assets encompass a variety of popular 3D models, plants, trees, surfaces, decals, imperfections, and packs released during Fab's launch. The platform's filters, including format, license type, price, ratings, style, and technical features, simplify the process of finding the right assets. Furthermore, Fab features a next-generation real-time 3D viewer, allowing users to inspect assets from all angles and up close, thereby ensuring a more informed purchasing decision.
