Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Developer Reportedly Lets Go of Translator in Favor of AI
A former translator at Warhorse Studios, the developer behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, has come forward claiming to have been let go from their position in favor of AI-powered translation tools. According to a statement posted on Reddit, which was reportedly verified by the Kingdom Come moderation team, the translator, Max H., was informed of the decision during a meeting on March 27. The reason given was to 'streamline the company's operations' and 'reduce costs' by leveraging AI for all future translations. Max H., who had been with the studio for nearly four years, expressed his disappointment and surprise at the move, stating that while discussions about using AI for translations had occurred in the past, he had never thought it would lead to his termination. The translator emphasized that the increasing reliance on AI has significant implications for individuals working in the gaming industry and beyond. Warhorse Studios has not yet publicly addressed the allegations, and GamesIndustry.biz has reached out for a comment.
