Unveiling the Vision Behind My Games' Knights Peak Publishing Label

My Games recently introduced Knights Peak Interactive, a new publishing arm dedicated to premium PC and console games. Led by Eugenio Vitale, Mario Gerhold, and Jan-Eric Lauble, the label has secured five projects and plans to release three titles this year. We spoke with Vitale about the decision to launch Knights Peak, which he sees as an opportunity for My Games to expand its business by focusing on premium titles from external studios. By combining Knights Peak with a team of publishing experts, My Games can offer a comprehensive package to developers and platform holders, as well as a clear message to players and media. Vitale noted that My Games lacked experience in handling premium titles, but the shift in the PC and console industry from free-to-play to buy-to-play models prompted the company to explore this new market through Knights Peak. Vitale joined My Games in March 2023 and was tasked with diversifying the business and spearheading the new premium division. He assembled a strong team, including Gerhold and Lauble, to support established and emerging studios in reaching new heights in global markets and brand development. A core principle of Knights Peak is to embrace flexibility in publishing and co-publishing across different formats and territories. The goal is to ensure that partners receive the attention they deserve, giving a voice to established teams and helping developers push genre boundaries. Knights Peak's launch catalogue features five games, with more titles in development. The console edition of Starship Troopers was the first release, followed by Nikoderiko: The Magical World, Mandragora, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and Blast Brigade. Vitale aims to release four to five games in 2025 and five to six titles in 2026. When selecting developers to partner with, Knights Peak considers three core principles: games with distinct personalities, a sense of familiarity, and high quality. The company aims for each game to introduce fresh ideas within its genre, blending innovation with elements that resonate with players. Ultimately, Knights Peak wants developers to be proud of their creations, which in turn means players will enjoy the projects. Looking ahead, Vitale's primary focus is on launching the titles in the pipeline and continuing to support developers. He is enthusiastic about forming connections with players and is focused on future growth and long-term development.
