GamesIndustry.biz Returns with Creature Comforts

The pandemic brought significant challenges, and everyone coped in their own unique way. In response, we shifted our focus from solely covering the gaming industry to prioritizing our readers' mental well-being by sharing adorable pet pictures. Instead of featuring just any pets, we decided to showcase the beloved companions of our readers. Initially, we anticipated receiving around 20 to 30 photos, but we were overwhelmed with 457 pictures, which we distributed across six separate columns throughout the year. This initiative proved to be a respite from the hardships of 2020, and we have experienced a similar need for comfort in 2023. As a result, we are reviving the Creature Comforts column as a year-end treat. We invited our developer and PR contacts to share photos of their pets, and despite underestimating the response, we have accumulated enough pictures for at least two columns, with potentially more to come. For those who have already submitted photos but do not see them featured, please be assured that they will appear in a future column. We extend an invitation to anyone in the industry who was not previously asked to participate. If you have a pet, such as a sheep, that you would like to feature, please send a picture along with the pet's name, your name, and your title to news@gamesindustry.biz, including 'Creature Comforts' in the subject line.
