GamesIndustry.biz Announces 2023 Best Places To Work Awards Canada Winners
The winners of the 2023 Canada GamesIndustry.biz Best Places To Work Awards have been announced. The awards focus on creating a better work environment in the gaming industry, with winners determined by a comprehensive employee survey. Nearly 50 Canadian gaming companies participated, resulting in 15 winners. Electronic Arts emerged as the biggest winner, with three teams receiving awards: Cliffhanger Games, Ripple Effect, and Maxis. All winning companies are eligible to display the prestigious Best Places To Work Awards badge. The winners are: Best small companies (10-50 employees): A Shell in the Pit, Alpha Channel Inc, Borealys Games, Brass Lion Entertainment, Chasing Rats Games, Lowbirth Games, Lucid Dreams Studio, and Trebuchet Best mid-sized companies (50-200 employees): Compulsion Games, Full Circle, Frima Studio, Timbre Games, and Yellow Brick Games Best large companies (200+ employees): Behaviour Interactive and Eidos-Montréal All winners underwent the rigorous Best Places To Work Awards judging process, which included an employer form assessing pay, holidays, benefits, social activities, and more, worth 20% of the final score. The majority of the awards are based on an employee survey, which covered topics such as work environment, work-life balance, management, diversity, and more, accounting for 80% of the final score. This year's Canada winners follow the US awards last month and the UK awards in September.
