Diablo 4 Takes Over as UK Boxed Charts Leader
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has relinquished its top spot in the UK Boxed Charts after a four-week reign. This marks the longest period a game in the series has held the number one position. Sales of the Nintendo Switch title dropped by 36% compared to the previous week. As a result, Diablo 4 from Activision Blizzard has claimed the top spot. Although the game did not achieve remarkable sales figures in boxed retail, its launch week sales trailed behind those of Zelda, Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil 4, and Dead Island 2. However, given its popularity on PC, the majority of sales are expected to come from digital download stores, with data to be released later in the week. Notably, only console versions of Diablo 4 received a boxed release, with 67% of physical sales attributed to the PS5, 27% to Xbox Series S and X, and 8% to the PS4. Street Fighter 6, last week's top new game, has slipped to fifth place with a relatively modest 48% decline in sales. Elsewhere, Hogwarts Legacy has risen to third place despite a 27% week-on-week decline in sales. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has moved up to fourth place, with sales down 23% from the previous week. FIFA 23 has dropped out of the top five to sixth place, with sales plummeting 50% in conjunction with the end of the 2022/2023 football season. Meanwhile, sales of PlayStation games, consoles, and bundles have experienced a surge, leading to increased sales of prominent titles, including first-party releases. God of War Ragnarok has jumped four places to seventh (with sales up 67%), Gran Turismo 7 has reached ninth place (with sales up 66%), and Spider-Man: Miles Morales has leapt 23 spots to 16th place (with sales up 95%). The GfK UK Boxed Top Ten for the week ending June 10, 2023, is as follows:
