The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Maintains Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts, Outpacing Street Fighter 6

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom achieves its fourth consecutive number one spot in the UK boxed charts, solidifying its position as a top-selling game. In terms of boxed sales, it has become the third best-selling Zelda game in UK chart history, surpassing the N64 release of Ocarina of Time from 1998, and is now ranked behind 2017's Breath of the Wild and 2006's Twilight Princess. Globally, Nintendo reported 10 million sales in a single weekend, making it the second best-selling Zelda game of all time, following its predecessor, Breath of the Wild. This data includes digital sales. The game comfortably maintains its lead over Street Fighter 6, which debuts at number two in the UK charts. However, Street Fighter 6's physical sales are not as strong as expected, particularly when compared to the success of Capcom's Resident Evil series in boxed retail. It's worth noting that the majority of Street Fighter 6's sales will come from digital channels, which will provide a more accurate picture of the game's performance. The breakdown of Street Fighter 6's boxed sales is as follows: 79% on PS5, 13% on Xbox, and 8% on PS4. Once digital sales are included, Xbox's share is expected to increase. Elsewhere in the charts, FIFA 23 drops to number three after a 4% decline in sales, while Hogwarts Legacy falls to number four despite an 11% increase in sales. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe also drops to number five, but its sales have risen by 10%. The only new release in the charts is Company of Heroes 3: Console Edition, which debuts at number 32. In terms of recent releases, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has dropped out of the top five and is now at number six, with a 7% decline in sales. LEGO 2K Drive is at number 17, with a slight 8% decrease in sales in its third week. Meanwhile, Farming Simulator 23 on Switch has seen a 6% increase in sales during its second week, although it has dropped from number 21 to number 25. Last week's Lord of the Rings: Gollum has disappeared from the top 40 entirely. The Evercade Team17 Amiga Collection 1 has just entered the charts at number 40.
