FIFA 23 Regains Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts
FIFA 23 has reclaimed its position at the top of the UK retail charts, experiencing a 27% increase in sales compared to the previous week. The game had not held the number one spot since early February, prior to the release of Hogwarts Legacy, which spent five weeks at the top. The recent surge in FIFA sales, combined with a 55% decline in sales of Resident Evil 4 Remake, has pushed the latter down to second place, while Hogwarts Legacy remains at number three with a 5% decrease in sales. EA Sports PGA Tour, the only new title in the charts this week, debuted at number eight despite only being on sale for two days. Easter and spring promotions have significantly impacted the charts, with The Last of Us: Part 2 re-entering at number five due to a 999% increase in sales, and Gran Turismo 7 seeing a 483% rise in sales to re-enter at number seven. Other regulars in the top ten include Mario Kart 8 DX at number four with a 13% increase, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at number six with a 26% decline, and God of War Ragnarok at number nine with a 25% increase. Super Mario Odyssey rounds out the top ten, dropping two places but experiencing a 15% increase in sales week-over-week. The game is one of seven Mario titles that saw a boost in sales due to promotions surrounding the release of The Super Mario Bros Movie. Additionally, other Mario titles in the top 40 include New Super Mario Bros U DX at number 17 with a 22% increase, Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury at number 18 with a 39% increase, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope at number 22 with an 82% increase, Mario Party Superstars at number 23 with a 24% increase, and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle at number 34 with a 32% increase.
