Resident Evil 4 Remake Retains Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts Despite Sales Decline
For the second consecutive week, Resident Evil 4 Remake led the UK retail sales charts, despite experiencing a 69% week-over-week decline in sales. The game maintained a comfortable lead over its closest competitor, FIFA 23, which saw a 34% increase in sales and climbed one spot to No.2, displacing Hogwarts Legacy to No.3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 jumped two places to No.4, thanks to a 58% surge in sales, as one of several titles that benefited from discounted prices and promotional activities. In fact, according to GfK, 34 titles within the Top 40 experienced a week-over-week sales boost due to these events. Warner Bros' Gotham Knights was the biggest beneficiary, re-entering the charts at No.6 after achieving a staggering 999% increase in sales. Meanwhile, Super Mario Odyssey witnessed a 5% sales increase, driven by the sales of Switch hardware bundles and ongoing promotional activities for The Super Mario Bros Movie, set to release in cinemas this Thursday.
