Hogwarts Legacy Achieves Fifth Consecutive Number One Spot, Surpassing Elden Ring Sales in the UK

For the fifth week in a row, Hogwarts Legacy by Warner Bros holds the top position in the UK boxed charts, despite experiencing a 31% decline in sales compared to the previous week. The game has also maintained its number one spot in the weekly digital data. Notably, within just five weeks, Hogwarts Legacy has surpassed the total sales of Elden Ring in the UK, including both digital and physical copies. The comparison to Elden Ring is relevant because it was a major hit last year, with sales only surpassed by a few titles such as FIFA 23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, GTA 5, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga by the end of 2022. By the time the digital data is released later this week, Hogwarts Legacy is expected to have surpassed LEGO Star Wars sales as well. Promotions for Mario games on Mario Day (March 10th) have led to an increase in their chart positions. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has returned to the top three at third place with a 4% sales increase, Super Mario Odyssey has risen 13 places to 26th with a 55% sales jump, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury has moved up nine places to 20th with a 13% sales increase. Meanwhile, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope continues its comeback, with promotions including a new DLC expansion and a free demo contributing to a steady rise in sales over the past three weeks. It is now at 16th place after a 16% improvement in sales.
