UK Boxed Charts: The Last of Us Part 1 Sees 238% Sales Surge Following TV Show Premiere
The UK Boxed Charts have a new number one, with Nintendo's turn-based strategy RPG Fire Emblem Engage taking the top spot. Although its launch sales are 31% lower than its predecessor, Fire Emblem Three Houses, the game still boasts the second-largest launch for the series in the UK, surpassing the cult classic Fire Emblem Awakening. FIFA 23 has dropped to second place, experiencing a 21% decline in sales, while God of War Ragnarok has fallen to third with a 26% decrease. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe remains at number four, with a 3% increase in sales, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 rounds out the top five, despite a 29% drop in sales. The Last of Us Part 1 has seen a significant surge in sales, rising 238% and re-entering the charts at number 20, thanks to the new TV series based on the game, available on Sky Atlantic. The PS4 version, The Last of Us: Remastered, has also re-entered the charts at number 32, with a 322% increase in sales. Other notable risers include Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, which has risen to number 12 with a 104% sales increase, driven by discounted prices at retailers like Argos and Amazon. Battlefield 2042 has re-entered the charts at number 25, with a 177% sales increase, also due to discounted prices. The Callisto Protocol has seen an 83% sales rise, returning to the charts at number 16, after its price was reduced to £30 at some retailers.
