Sail.game Launches as a Revolutionary Matchmaking Platform to Combat Discovery Fatigue in the Gaming Industry

Industry veterans Vladimír Geršl and Guillaume Jamet have introduced Sail.game, a novel matchmaking platform designed to bridge the gap between developers seeking funding and publishers looking for new titles. After months of early access, which saw over 13,000 interactions and the onboarding of more than 200 qualified publishers, the platform aims to streamline the pitching process and address the issue of discovery fatigue. According to Jamet, the traditional approach of sending pitches to numerous publishers often results in high-quality projects being overlooked due to the sheer volume of irrelevant submissions. Sail.game seeks to rectify this by ensuring that publishers only receive pitches for games that align with their specific genre, budget, and timeline, thereby guaranteeing that developers' projects are seen by those who genuinely care about their genre. The platform's selection of publishers is a result of ten years of relational capital built by Cyber Sail Consulting, granting developers access to a decade of verified, high-level connections. Developers can track who views, shortlists, and downloads their demos in real-time and create business-oriented profiles called 'Game Cards' to provide scouts with the necessary data points for informed decisions. Unlike online marketplaces like Pitchify, Sail.game uses data to actively push matches, rather than relying on classic searches. The service will also offer on-deck analytics and a suite of tools to support the entire lifecycle of the relationship between developers and publishers. With a nominal entry fee starting at €99, Sail.game is now open for registrations, while the Discovery Service remains free for qualified publishers.
