Five Game Development Studios Unite to Form Nova Assembly
A new developer-led alliance, Nova Assembly, has been established by five independent game studios. The alliance aims to facilitate the sharing of resources and expertise among its members. The studios that make up Nova Assembly are Unfrozen, known for Iratus: Lord of the Dead, Sad Cat Studios, the developer of Replaced, VEA Games, the creator of Nikoderiko: The Magical World, Weappy, the studio behind the This is Police series, and Game Garden, a mobile game developer. Currently, Nova Assembly has ten games in various stages of development, with the first release being Replaced by Sad Cat Studios, scheduled to launch on April 14, 2026. The alliance plans to launch its own publishing division, which will oversee marketing, distribution, and direct communication with the gaming community. According to the co-founders, each studio will maintain its independence while providing support to one another. The formation of Nova Assembly is expected to enable the sharing of expertise and more efficient use of resources, without compromising the creative independence of its member studios. As stated by Denis Fedorov, founder of Unfrozen and CEO of Nova Assembly, 'The creation of a unified structure that brings together five successful and promising game studios will allow for the sharing of invaluable expertise and more strategic use of shared resources, all while preserving creative independence, which is essential for competitiveness in today's market.' Last year, Unfrozen partnered with Hooded Horse for the publication of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. In 2023, Sad Cat Studios received a $5 million investment from GEM Capital to support the development of future projects, including Replaced, which was initially announced in 2021.
