Bloober Team Enhances Leadership as Studio Expands to Develop Seven Horror Titles

The developer behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team, has bolstered its leadership as it transitions into a multi-project framework, currently handling two single-player horror games and five co-development projects. The studio previously announced a new horror title for Nintendo platforms and an original title from the creators of Kronos: New Dawn. New appointments include Thaine Lyman as head of studio, Katya Baukova as business development director, and MichaƂ Gembicki as head of publishing. Lyman, with experience from Activision and Wargaming, will oversee production and development teams. Baukova, with a background at CD Projekt and Techland, will lead strategic partnerships and global expansion. Gembicki, formerly CEO of Klabater SA and holding key positions at CD Projekt, will shape the publishing strategy and global distribution. With the new team in place, CEO Piotr Babieno states that Bloober Team will maintain two 'first-party' production teams for major releases, believing two core productions strike the right balance between ambition and responsibility. The studio is working on several projects, including original IPs and franchise expansions, with a focus on single-player horror experiences. Alongside its core productions, Bloober Team's co-development label, Broken Mirror Games, is working on five horror titles, including Layers of Fear 3. Babieno emphasizes a measured approach to new projects, prioritizing meaningful experiences over rapid growth. As the studio adopts its new structure, the focus will be on talent retention, sustainable recruitment, and long-term stability, employing nearly 270 people. Babieno highlights the importance of stability and long-term collaboration, aiming to avoid reckless growth that leads to layoffs. He also seeks to continue boosting Poland's influence in game development, describing it as a mature ecosystem with a creative identity that prioritizes meaningful game creation over monetization.
