Jagex Set to Introduce RuneScape: Dragonwilds to the Asia-Pacific Market
Jagex, the developer behind RuneScape, has revealed plans to launch RuneScape: Dragonwilds in the Asia-Pacific region by the end of the year. This significant expansion will feature localized versions in Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. According to Jagex CEO Jon Bellamy, "The APAC region is at the forefront of the global gaming landscape, with some of the most discerning and passionate players worldwide." He emphasized that launching in these native languages demonstrates the company's dedication to transforming RuneScape into a global gaming phenomenon capable of thriving for decades to come. Bellamy further stated, "Our goal is to establish Jagex as a multi-faceted, community-driven franchise with a global perspective. The APAC region is a natural next step in this journey, given the strong resonance of the survival crafting genre in these markets." RuneScape: Dragonwilds initially entered early access on Steam in April 2025 and later expanded to Latin America in September, offering localized support in Portuguese and Spanish. In a recent conversation, Jagex SVP James Dobrowski expressed the company's anticipation for 2026, describing it as the most ambitious and challenging year to date. Dobrowski noted that the company underwent significant strategic changes the previous year, reassessing priorities and making adjustments to both company-wide and individual project strategies.
