Iron Galaxy Studios Implements Additional Layoffs Due to Market Pressures

Iron Galaxy Studios, the developer behind Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, has undertaken a new round of layoffs in response to the current state of the market. Following a reduction of 66 positions in February of the previous year, the company has now been forced to cut an unspecified number of roles. In a statement on LinkedIn, Iron Galaxy expressed its regret over the decision, stating that it has become impossible to maintain the team's current size. The studio attributed this to a shift in the way games are consumed and the altered investment criteria of publishers, which have affected the entire industry. As a result, Iron Galaxy is adopting a new approach, accepting the current market conditions as the new norm. This has led to the implementation of a new company structure, resulting in the loss of jobs for several teammates. The studio's co-CEO, Adam Boyes, stepped down in August, and Chelsea Blasko has since taken on the role of CEO.
