Toei Company Introduces Toei Games Publishing Label

Toei, a prominent Japanese entertainment company, has launched Toei Games, its in-house publishing arm. The goal is to establish the games business as a key pillar, complementing the company's existing film, television, and events divisions. Initially, Toei Games will release titles on Steam, marking its entry into the PC gaming market, with plans to expand to home consoles such as the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox in the near future. The first game is set to be unveiled on April 24, followed by the announcement of the full lineup. Notably, Toei Games will not be relying on established IPs like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Sailor Moon, or Digimon from Toei Animation. Instead, the company will collaborate with creators in Japan and internationally to develop new IPs. According to Toei president and CEO Fumio Yoshimura, the company's medium- to long-term vision, 'Toei New Wave 2033', is centered around sharing Toei's 'stories' with a global audience. Yoshimura emphasized that venturing into the games business, with a focus on the global market, is a key aspect of this vision. He further explained that Toei Games is committed to creating entirely new IPs from the ground up, rather than just utilizing existing ones, and will leverage the company's expertise in video production to deliver unique entertainment experiences to gamers worldwide.
