PS5 Prices Set to Increase in South Korea and Southeast Asia Starting May 1, 2026

According to recent reports, the digital PS5 price in South Korea will jump from ₩598,000 to ₩858,000, while the standard edition will increase from ₩748,000 to ₩948,000. Furthermore, the PS5 Pro will see a 16% rise from ₩1.118 million to ₩1.298 million. Price adjustments in Southeast Asia will be as follows: In Singapore, the standard PS5 will be SGD 764, the digital PS5 will be SGD 849, the PS5 Pro will be SGD 1,167, and the PS Portal will be SGD 347. In Malaysia, prices will be MYR 2,799 for the PS5, MYR 2,499 for the PS5 Digital Edition, MYR 3,999 for the PS5 Pro, and MYR 1,099 for the PS Portal. In Thailand, the PS5 will cost THB 20,990, the PS5 Digital Edition will be THB 18,790, the PS5 Pro will be THB 30,990, and the PS Portal will be THB 8,380. In Indonesia, the PS5 will be IDR 11,399,000, the PS5 Digital Edition will be IDR 9,999,000, and the PS Portal will be IDR 5,199,000. The PS5 will be PHP 40,032 in the Philippines and VND 16,900,000 in Vietnam. This development follows Sony's earlier announcement of global price increases for its PlayStation 5 consoles, effective April 2, 2026, citing ongoing economic pressures. The base and digital PS5 saw a $100 increase, while the PS5 Pro experienced a $150 hike. The price changes were implemented to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality gaming experiences worldwide, according to SIE vice president Isabelle Tomatis. The updated prices are as follows: In the US, the PS5 is $649.99, the PS5 Digital Edition is $599.99, the PS5 Pro is $899.99, and the PS Portal is $249.99. In the UK, the prices are £569.99 for the PS5, £519.99 for the PS5 Digital Edition, £789.99 for the PS5 Pro, and £219.99 for the PS Portal. In Europe, the prices are €649.99 for the PS5, €599.99 for the PS5 Digital Edition, €899.99 for the PS5 Pro, and €249.99 for the PS Portal. In Japan, the PS5 is ¥97,980, the PS5 Digital Edition is ¥89,980, the PS5 Pro is ¥137,980, and the PS Portal is ¥39,980. This move comes after Sony increased PS5 prices in Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand last April. Reports have also suggested that Sony may delay the rollout of its next-generation console due to the ongoing memory shortage crisis, potentially pushing the PS6 launch to 2028 or 2029.
