Krafton Sees 56.9% Jump in Q1 Revenue to $931 Million, Fueled by Mobile Content
Krafton has announced its Q1 financial results, boasting a record revenue increase of 56.9% to ₩1.37 trillion ($931 million), with an operating profit of ₩561.6 billion ($381.3 million). The mobile segment was the primary driver of revenue, generating ₩702.7 billion ($477 million). Key factors contributing to this growth include premium content offerings, strategic IP collaborations, and a notable 17% year-on-year rise in paying users for Battlegrounds Mobile India, supported by enhanced server capabilities and expanded content. PC revenue stood at ₩363.9 billion ($247.1 million), buoyed by new content introductions and robust live service operations for PUBG: Battlegrounds. The PUBG franchise itself saw a significant 24% year-on-year revenue increase, surpassing the ₩1 trillion ($679 million) mark. Additionally, Krafton reported ₩13.8 billion ($9.3 million) in console revenue and ₩291.0 billion ($197.6 million) from other business segments. The company reiterated its commitment to an AI-first strategy, emphasizing the 'AI for Game' initiative, which aims to deliver unique gameplay experiences through AI integration. This approach aligns with Krafton's October announcement prioritizing AI as a core problem-solving method to foster organizational change, enhance productivity, and drive long-term corporate growth. Notably, Krafton's 2025 earnings surpassed $2 billion for the first time, largely attributed to the double-digit growth of its PUBG intellectual property.
