Delphi Interactive Sees Surge in Interest from Major IPs Following Success with James Bond and FIFA
The success of Delphi Interactive with titles such as FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition and 007 First Light has paved the way for new collaborations with renowned brands, as stated by CEO Casper Daugaard. During a panel discussion at The Paley Center for Media, Daugaard mentioned that several conversations have been initiated with some of the world's most iconic brands, which are drawn to Delphi's unique approach. This approach involves creating games specifically for fans of a particular IP, rather than solely targeting a subset of gamers. Delphi applied this strategy to 007 First Light by acquiring the license and partnering with IO Interactive for development. According to Daugaard, 'We told the family and MGM that we're not developing this James Bond game for gamers, but for James Bond fans.' The goal was to create an immersive experience that incorporates all aspects of the James Bond universe, making it an interactive experience like no other. Delphi employed a similar strategy with FIFA, partnering with Netflix to reach a broader audience that includes the global football fanbase, extending beyond players of EA's previous FIFA titles. The FIFA title was developed by Refactor Games and published by Delphi, marking the first FIFA series release since the split from EA Sports in 2022. Earlier this year, Daugaard stated that Delphi's mission is to 'license, finance, develop, and publish games based on the world's most iconic IPs.' Delphi president Andy Kleinman reiterated this mission, highlighting the company's goal to address the disconnect between major publishers and iconic entertainment or sports brands. By recognizing the opportunity to create products that prioritize these beloved brands, Delphi aims to become the partner of choice for bringing these experiences to life.
