Nintendo Seeks Dismissal of Lawsuit Regarding Tariff Refunds to Consumers
Nintendo has filed a motion to dismiss a class-action lawsuit that alleged the company failed to refund tariffs to customers. The lawsuit, filed by two Nintendo customers, claimed that the company increased hardware prices while seeking compensation for US tariffs and did not pass on the refunds to consumers. Nintendo's lawyers argued that consumers received the products they paid for and were not entitled to a rebate due to changes in tariff legislation. The company stated that it did not pass on the full cost of tariffs to consumers and instead absorbed some of the costs, particularly for popular products like the Nintendo Switch 2.
