CodeDev Introduces The Performance Guys, a Specialized Optimization Division

CodeDev, also known as The Unreal Guys, has established a dedicated optimization division called The Performance Guys. This division is comprised of engineers and technical artists who focus on project-critical optimization tasks and is currently recruiting senior engineering talent. Having previously collaborated with notable companies such as Hangar 13, Epic Games, and Otherside Entertainment, The Performance Guys has formally launched after achieving significant performance wins, including a cross-console overhaul that reduced memory usage by up to 50%. According to CEO Myke Parrott, "Unlocking the full potential of Unreal Engine and ensuring seamless gameplay requires a specific type of technical expertise, often neglected until the later stages of development. Our partners frequently requested assistance with this, prompting us to establish a dedicated division to address this need." The company has developed an in-house tool called Performance Intelligence, designed to provide more detailed data than Unreal Insights without overwhelming users. This tool streamlines the debugging process for developers, enabling them to quickly identify and address performance issues. The Performance Guys is currently focused on optimizing performance for Unreal, Unity, and proprietary technologies across various industries, including independent, AA, and AAA video games, virtual productions, and high-end visualizations.
