Atari Partners with Universal to Bring 10 Classic Games to the Big Screen

In a significant deal, Atari has collaborated with Universal Pictures to adapt 10 of its renowned game franchises into full-length feature films. According to reports, Universal has already acquired the rights to the first project, although the specific game it will be based on has not been disclosed. The list of titles included in the agreement comprises Asteroids, Adventure, Berzerk, Breakout, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Millipede, Missile Command, Pong, and Yars' Revenge, all of which are anticipated to be transformed into large-scale, action-packed adventures. Atari's chairman and CEO, Wade Rosen, confirmed the partnership, expressing his enthusiasm for bringing the company's beloved brand and games to a new medium. "With a legacy spanning over five decades, Atari has consistently created games and worlds that have endured as part of popular culture, long after their initial release," Rosen noted.
