Capcom Sees 81% Jump in Quarterly Profit, Driven by Pragmata and Resident Evil Success

Capcom has announced its financial results for the first quarter, highlighting significant increases in net and ordinary profit, largely attributed to the success of Pragmata and its established Resident Evil franchise. The company is confident in meeting its full-year projections of ¥210 billion in net sales and ¥58 billion in net income. Key financial highlights for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, include: net sales of ¥70.4 billion, up 54.7% year-over-year; operating profit of ¥41 billion, up 66.9% year-over-year; ordinary profit of ¥41.4 billion, up 81.1% year-over-year; and net income of ¥29.1 billion, up 69.2% year-over-year. The Digital Earnings segment was a major driver, with net sales of ¥54.6 billion, up 83% year-over-year, and operating profit of ¥37.5 billion, up 87.5%. Total unit sales exceeded 23.81 million, with Pragmata selling over 2.5 million units worldwide since its April launch. The game achieved 1 million sales in two days and 2 million in 16 days. Catalogue titles, including Resident Evil Requiem, which has now sold over 8 million units, also saw significant growth, driven by pricing strategies and multiplatform releases. Other notable performers included Devil May Cry 5, with cumulative sales of 14 million units, and Street Fighter 6, with 60 million units sold. The company's Arcade Operations and Amusement Equipment divisions also contributed to the positive results, driven by efficient store operations and sales of new equipment.
