Atari and Twin Galaxies Launch Global Gaming Tournament

Atari has collaborated with Twin Galaxies to introduce the inaugural Atari World Championships. The event commences with an online tournament, where participants can compete in five iconic Atari games, ultimately leading to a live, in-person grand finale. Twin Galaxies, a renowned platform for competitive gaming and record-keeping, will utilize its proprietary Submission and Adjudication Process to oversee the online portion of the tournament. Additionally, Twin Galaxies will be seeking partnerships with select brands for the North American pilot of the competition. According to Atari CEO Wade Rosen, "Atari's legacy spans over five decades, and our fans continue to cherish and explore it. We are excited to partner with Twin Galaxies to honor the spirit of competition with our existing community and attract new fans to our growing ecosystem." Zachary Rozga, a senior executive at Twin Galaxies, added: "Through this collaboration, Atari and Twin Galaxies are reviving the authentic, retro essence of competitive gaming. The World Championships format we have developed provides a contemporary platform where gamers of all levels can earn recognition, achieve leaderboard status, and share their stories." Recently, Atari entered into an agreement with Universal Pictures to adapt ten of its intellectual properties into feature films, including Asteroids, Adventure, Berzerk, Breakout, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Millipede, Missile Command, Pong, and Yars' Revenge.
