Roblox Sees 36% Increase in Q2 Revenue, Reaching $1.5 Billion

Roblox has released its financial results for the second quarter, showcasing significant year-over-year revenue growth despite a slight shortfall in net bookings. Key highlights for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, include: Revenue of $1.5 billion, marking a 36% year-over-year increase, and bookings of $1.6 billion, up 8% year-over-year. However, the company experienced a net loss of $185 million. The shortfall in bookings was attributed to reduced per-hour monetization among younger users in the US and Canada, resulting from a shift towards games with lower hourly monetization. To address this, Roblox modified its Recommended for You algorithm, prioritizing impressions for highly engaging games over short-term monetization. Average daily active users rose by 10% to 123 million, with notable growth in Japan and India. While average bookings per user declined by 2% to $12.66, the number of monthly unique payers increased by 15% to 27 million. Over half of global daily active users have completed age verification, and more than 70% of users in the US and Australia have been age-checked. The platform saw a 5% year-over-year increase in total hours engaged, reaching 29 billion, with the top 10 games contributing approximately 20% of total hours. CEO David Baszucki expressed the company's focus on capturing 10% of the global gaming market, highlighting Roblox's unique position with nearly 4% of global gaming revenue and a vertically integrated platform.
