Rokky Collaborates with Revolution Software to Introduce Broken Sword Series to Chinese Market

In a strategic move, game distributor Rokky has formed a partnership with Revolution Software to co-publish the renowned Broken Sword franchise in China. As part of this agreement, Rokky will oversee marketing, translation, localization, influencer engagement, and community management. The remastered titles, including Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged and the upcoming remaster of The Smoking Mirror, will be available in both simplified and traditional Chinese. These revamped versions boast redrawn backgrounds, over 30,000 reanimated character sprites, and enhanced audio. Revolution Software founder and creative director Charles Cecil expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to co-publish with Rokky, who bring vast experience, and we look forward to working together to deliver this game to Chinese players and expand our fan base in the east." Cecil added, "The Chinese community has long been eager for localized versions of the Broken Sword series, and we have incorporated valuable feedback from gamers worldwide into the remastered titles." Rokky has experienced significant growth in China in recent years and will transition its China distribution team into an official publishing unit. This partnership marks Rokky's first foray into publishing, following its history of distributing PC games for notable publishers such as Sony, Capcom, and Team17. Rokky CEO and founder Vadim Andreev noted, "The Chinese gaming market is enormous, and success requires a deep understanding of local player behavior and distribution – expertise that Rokky has developed over the years." Andreev also stated, "While we have distributed many titles, publishing a game presents a unique set of challenges, but we are excited to take on this new endeavor and continue to learn and grow in the publishing field." Recently, Rokky launched an unofficial Steam tool that enables publishers and developers to track the usage of distribution Steam keys.
