Atari Returns to Profit in Core Business, but Consolidated Loss Reaches $5.5 Million
Atari has announced its consolidated financial results for the 2025-26 fiscal year, showing a 66% year-over-year revenue increase to $65 million, driven by the acquisition of Thunderful and growth in its Games and Hardware segments. However, when excluding Thunderful's results, the company's core business reports a current operating income of $1.0 million and a net income of $0.1 million, representing a year-over-year improvement. In contrast, the consolidated group, including Thunderful, posts a current operating loss of $7.7 million and a net loss of $5.5 million for the year, with Thunderful alone incurring an operating loss of $8.8 million. According to CEO Wade Rosen, the core Atari business has achieved operational profitability for the first time in several years. Key figures for the full year ending March 31, 2026, include a current operating income/loss of -$7.7 million with Thunderful and $1.0 million excluding it, as well as a net income/loss of -$5.5 million with Thunderful and $0.1 million excluding it. The company's Games segment released 30 titles, resulting in a 67.7% year-over-year revenue increase to $53.2 million, while Hardware revenue rose 83% to $8.4 million. Atari also acquired IP rights to five Ubisoft titles and increased its stake in Thunderful to 97%, delisting it from the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market. The company completed the acquisition of Implicit Conversions and Hipster Whale, and refinanced $33.8 million in convertible bonds. Looking ahead, Atari plans to continue investing in its games pipeline and consider potential acquisitions, with its full audited annual report pending final procedures.
