Kinetic Publishing to Unveil Debut Lineup at Upcoming Event
Later this month, Kinetic Publishing, a publishing arm established by the creators of Phasmophobia, will host a showcase to reveal its inaugural slate of games. The event, scheduled for August 12, will be hosted by Ben Starr and produced by DoubleJump. It will provide release windows, platform information, and other details for the first set of titles slated for launch in 2027 and 2028. Kinetic Publishing was founded by Daniel Knight, the mind behind Phasmophobia, and launched in January with a self-funded model, aiming to support two to three indie projects annually with funding ranging from a few hundred thousand pounds to £1 million. The label's goal is to offer the kind of support Knight wished he had when he started working on Phasmophobia in 2020. Since its launch, Kinetic Publishing has received hundreds of submissions from indie teams worldwide, showcasing a wide range of projects from various genres. The showcase will be streamed on Kinetic Publishing's Twitch channel, with co-streaming partners to be announced. Phasmophobia has sold over 27 million copies since its launch in 2020, a significant increase from the 25 million reported in January.
