GamesAid Expands Board with Six New Trustees, Secures £82,000 in Funding for 2025/26

GamesAid has strengthened its board with the addition of six new trustees and successfully raised £82,000 for charitable causes during the 2025/26 period. Key appointments include Dom Shaw as vice chair, Catherine Anderson, formerly of Green Man Gaming, as secretary, and Amelia Suchy, co-founder and director of Mom to Mum, as treasurer, replacing Mark Washbrook and Gavin Smith in their respective roles. Further additions to the board are Greg Weller from Generation Media, Jon Paterson of Barclays, and Matthieu Gras, CEO of CineRPG CIC. The £82,000, distributed evenly among four charities - AFK, Autistica, Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity, and Solving Kids' Cancer UK - was generated through various events and activities, culminating in a formal cheque presentation in May 2025. Recently, GamesAid also raised £30,070 at Develop:Brighton. These funds have enabled AFK to provide mobility equipment for children, while Rays of Sunshine will fulfill gaming wishes for 15 young people with serious or terminal illnesses. Autistica is launching an Employment Readiness Program for neurodivergent youth, and Solving Kids' Cancer UK is expanding its Family Support Service. GamesAid chair Sara Veal expressed pride in the community's achievements, highlighting the significant contributions made despite industry challenges, and the profound impact of these efforts on the supported charities and the children and young people they serve.
