BAFTA Games Awards Introduces Revised Voting and Entry Requirements for 2027 Ceremony
The 2027 BAFTA Games Awards has commenced accepting entries, accompanied by updates to its voting requirements, fee structure, and artificial intelligence policy. The BAFTA Games Committee conducts an annual review of eligibility criteria, voting procedures, and campaigning rules. This year, the guidelines have been revised to provide clarity on the organization's approach to AI. Furthermore, several changes have been made to the entry fees, including the elimination of the Early Entry/Month of Release Discount and the introduction of a discounted rate for independent and small-scale developers. A new base entry fee has been introduced, covering entry into up to four categories of the entrant's choice, including additional entry into prominent categories such as Best Game and British Game. The Evolving Game category will now be open to a vote by all BAFTA members, comprising over 1,700 games professionals and industry experts. The eligibility period for the 2027 BAFTA Games Awards encompasses games released between November 15, 2025, and November 19, 2026. The deadline for entries is September 18 for games released between November 15, 2025, and July 31, 2026, and November 6 for games released between August 1 and November 19, 2026. The longlist will be announced on December 8, 2026, followed by the nominations on March 11, 2027. The BAFTA Games Awards 2027 ceremony is scheduled to take place in London on April 14, 2027.
