Nexon's Q2 Revenue Surges to $760.8 Million, Driven by Arc Raiders and MapleStory

Nexon's second-quarter financial results exceeded projections, with significant contributions from its MapleStory franchise and the ongoing success of Arc Raiders, developed by Embark Studios. The company reported a notable 77% increase in net income, largely due to a substantial reduction in foreign exchange losses. Key financial highlights include: Revenue of ¥121.1 billion ($760.8 million), representing a 2% increase; Operating income of ¥31.3 billion ($196.6 million), down 17%; and Net income of ¥29.6 billion ($185.9 million), up 77%. The decline in operating income is attributed to changes in the product mix, resulting in higher revenue-linked costs such as creator fees and user acquisition costs. Arc Raiders generated ¥18.3 billion ($114.9 million) in revenue during the quarter, with total revenue exceeding ¥88 billion ($552.8 million) since its launch. The game sold an additional 800,000 units, bringing total sales to 16.3 million, with preparations underway for its largest content update since launch, scheduled for October. The MapleStory, Dungeon & Fighter, and FC franchises collectively contributed ¥81.2 billion ($510.1 million) in revenue, down 5% year-over-year. MapleStory revenue saw a 63% increase, driven by the success of MapleStory Worlds, which grew 123% year-over-year. Nexon has a strong pipeline of new games, including Arad: Idle RPG, the mobile version of Dave the Diver, Azur Promilia, and Temppal: Overgeared, all scheduled for release in 2026. The company forecasts revenue between ¥120.7 billion ($758.4 million) and ¥133.4 billion ($838.2 million) for the third quarter, representing a 2% to 12% year-over-year increase.
