The Game Awards 2025 Hits Record 171 Million Global Livestreams

The 2025 Game Awards ceremony has shattered viewership records, attracting an estimated 171 million global livestreams throughout its broadcast. This represents an 11% increase from the previous year, which itself saw a 31% jump to 154 million worldwide livestreams. The viewership data encompasses a range of platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok Live, X, Kick, Facebook, Instagram Live, and various networks in China and India. Notably, this total does not account for viewership on Prime Video, a partnership announced in November. The event peaked at 4.4 million concurrent viewers on western platforms, marking a 9% year-on-year increase. On YouTube alone, the official feed reached a peak of 1.4 million viewers, an 8% increase from the previous year. When co-streams are included, the peak audience grew 9% to 2.4 million concurrent viewers across over 8,600 channels. The ceremony, held on December 11, saw Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claim nine out of 12 awards, including Game of the Year and Best Performance for Jennifer English. The event also featured several game reveals, including Larian Studio's Divinity, Remedy Entertainment's Control: Resonant, and the anticipated return of Lara Croft.
