Bandai Namco Divests Limbic Entertainment to Private Gaming Investor

In a strategic move to reorient its portfolio, Bandai Namco has announced the sale of Limbic Entertainment to a private investor with a focus on the video game industry. This German-based development studio, previously a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco, will continue to operate under its current leadership and retain its name and identity. According to Bandai Namco, the decision to sell is part of its broader strategy to concentrate on areas where it can deliver the most impactful content. With the backing of the new investor, Limbic Entertainment is poised to forge ahead in its niche of building and management simulation games. Arnaud Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, expressed pride in the studio's accomplishments and wished the team success in their future endeavors as an independent entity. Notably, Limbic Entertainment's sole release under Bandai Namco's ownership was the theme park management simulation game Park Beyond in 2023. Prior to this, the studio had developed games within the Tropico and Might & Magic franchises. This development is the latest in a series of changes at Bandai Namco, including the sale of Bandai Namco Studios Singapore to Nintendo and the departure of veteran Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada after three decades with the company.
