Netflix to Exclusively Release New FIFA Game in 2026
A fresh FIFA gaming experience is slated to launch on Netflix's platform in 2026, coinciding with the World Cup. Developed and published by Delphi Interactive, this project marks a significant departure from the traditional FIFA gaming model. Although Delphi Interactive's online presence suggests a limited development capacity, the company is also involved in other high-profile projects, including IO Interactive's 007: First Light. The new FIFA game will be accessible on smartphones, providing an unparalleled level of convenience for players. According to Alain Tascan, president of Netflix's gaming division, "The FIFA World Cup will be the most significant cultural event of 2026, and now fans can bring the game into their living rooms." Tascan further emphasized the goal of "bringing football back to its roots with a game that can be played with just the touch of a button." FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "FIFA is thrilled to partner with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This partnership represents a major milestone in FIFA's commitment to innovation in the football gaming space, aiming to reach billions of fans worldwide and redefine the concept of simulation games. Our reimagined game marks the beginning of a new era in digital football, and it will be available for free to Netflix members, signifying a historic step for FIFA." The exclusive partnership between FIFA and Electronic Arts, which spanned nearly three decades, came to an end in 2022 when EA opted to launch its own gaming franchise, EA Sports FC. Meanwhile, Netflix is pursuing the acquisition of Warner Bros, including its gaming division, for a staggering $82.7 billion.
