Supercell Announces Leadership Change with Sara Bach as President

Finland-based mobile gaming giant Supercell has announced the promotion of Sara Bach to president, coinciding with significant changes to the company's organizational structure. In a LinkedIn post, Supercell co-founder and CEO Ilkka Paananen revealed that Bach will lead the newly established live games division, which consolidates the company's business operations, marketing, community, people, and game tech departments under one umbrella. Bach, who joined Supercell in 2023 as head of live games and was later promoted to chief live games officer, brings extensive experience from her previous roles at DICE, King, and Mojang. Paananen expressed his confidence in Bach's leadership abilities, stating that she has demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing live games and prioritizing the needs of players. By appointing Bach as president, Paananen aims to focus on driving the company's vision and culture, while collaborating with Drussila Hollanda, head of new games, to foster a more entrepreneurial mindset in the development of new games. The primary objective behind the creation of the live games division is to streamline the various disciplines involved in game development and operation, ensuring that all teams work in tandem to deliver the best possible player experience. As Paananen noted, the company's growth has led to increased complexity, and this restructuring aims to strengthen alignment and maintain a player-centric approach.
