Katsuhiro Harada to Depart Bandai Namco by 2025's End
Veteran Tekken developer Katsuhiro Harada has revealed his plans to leave Bandai Namco after dedicating three decades to the company. On social media, Harada shared his decision, stating that recent life events prompted him to consider his remaining time as a creator. He believes the 30th anniversary of the Tekken franchise is the ideal time to bring one chapter of his life to a close. Harada reflected on the loss of close friends and the retirement or passing of respected senior colleagues in recent years. During this period, he sought guidance from Ken Kutaragi, whom he holds in high regard, and received valuable advice that supported his decision. Over the past four to five years, Harada has been gradually transferring his responsibilities to the broader Tekken team, including the stories and world-building aspects he oversaw. Looking back on his career, Harada feels fortunate to have worked on a diverse range of projects, each filled with new discoveries and learning experiences that have become irreplaceable memories for him. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported him, including global communities and colleagues who have been by his side for many years. Harada joined Bandai Namco in the early 1990s and rose through the ranks to become the director and chief producer of the Tekken franchise.
