New Studio Eteo Emerges from Sable Creative Director

In a recent development, Gregorios Kythreotis has revealed that he and Daniel Fineberg, co-founder of Shedworks, have decided to go their separate ways. Kythreotis stated, "Daniel and I are now focusing on our own projects. Shedworks will remain as the developer of Sable, but without any new projects in the pipeline. Instead, Eteo will serve as the studio for my upcoming endeavors." Initially, it was announced that Shedworks co-founder Gregorios Kythreotis had founded a new studio called Eteo, based in London. This independent studio collaborates with global partners to craft immersive game worlds with a unique, playful twist. Currently, Eteo's debut game is under development, with a planned release date set for 2027. The project is supported by Outersloth, an indie games fund established by Among Us developer Innersloth. Come January, Eteo will introduce a "collective newsletter project" titled Archetypes, aiming to provide writers with a platform to analyze video game design aspects, with each article exploring themes aligned with Eteo's design principles. Reflecting on his journey, Kythreotis noted, "Sable was our first major game, and it completely transformed my life. Eteo represents the next step in this journey." He further added, "By applying the knowledge and experience gained from studying architecture, my time at Shedworks, and working on Sable, I am now pursuing new, personal projects that continue the legacy of world-building, storytelling, and creating emotionally engaging games." Having co-founded Shedworks with Daniel Fineberg in 2014, Kythreotis served as the creative director for the studio's debut game, Sable, which was released in 2021 and won the award for Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards.
