Sony Partners with Bad Robot Games to Produce and Publish Upcoming Title

Sony Interactive Entertainment has formed an alliance with Bad Robot Games to support the development of the studio's inaugural internally developed game. The platform holder will oversee production and publishing for the studio's upcoming cooperative shooter, which is being helmed by Mike Booth, the chief creative officer and creator of Left 4 Dead. Currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC, the untitled game promises to deliver a fresh take on the co-op genre. In a Reddit post last September, Booth hinted at the project, stating that it builds upon the foundations that made Left 4 Dead a success. He expressed his excitement about exploring new aspects of the co-op formula, which he believes will appeal to fans of his previous work. Anna Sweet, CEO of Bad Robot Games, emphasized the studio's ambition to create a groundbreaking experience with its new IP. By partnering with Sony Interactive Entertainment, the studio aims to bring its vision to life and establish a new universe. Sweet praised Booth's creative direction, anticipating that the cooperative adventure will yield unforgettable moments for players. Christian Svensson, VP and head of 2P/3P content ventures and strategic initiatives at SIE, praised the talent assembled at Bad Robot Games and expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He highlighted the alignment between the studio's creative vision and SIE's mission to craft experiences that resonate with players. Bad Robot Games, a division of JJ Abrams' production company, was established in 2018.
