Three Fields Entertainment Faces Studio-Wide Redundancy Due to Lack of Publisher Support

The UK-based game development studio, Three Fields Entertainment, founded by the creators of the Burnout series, has announced that its entire workforce is at risk of redundancy. This news was shared by CEO Fiona Sperry in a LinkedIn post, where she explained that the studio's recent game, Wreckreation, has not generated sufficient revenue to sustain the company in its current form. Despite being published by THQ Nordic, Three Fields Entertainment had to self-fund the game's development for most of the year, including post-launch content. The lack of enthusiasm and financial support from the publisher has made it impossible for the studio to continue operating as it is. Sperry expressed her disappointment and sadness, stating that the studio had many exciting features and updates in the pipeline, which they genuinely believed would have enhanced the game and grown its community. The CEO hopes that by sharing their work publicly, potential opportunities may still arise, and the studio's vision, passion, and skill will be recognized. Three Fields Entertainment was established in 2014 by Fiona Sperry and Alex Ward, who previously co-founded Criterion, the studio behind the Burnout series.
